It is a beautiful area - must be gorgeous now with the recent snow, although I wonder about all the oaks and beeches which took a beating here in southern NH with the wet heavy snow since the trees still had all their leaves.Ellen Snyderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09158932570826154360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2194161742476128031.post-38618137281480583632011-10-31T09:14:44.466-04:002011-10-31T09:14:44.466-04:00It's nice to see the pictures of an area I lov...It's nice to see the pictures of an area I love so much. I don't make it to Evan's Notch as much as I'd like, but there's something wonderful about that part of the White Mountains. Maybe because it seems so much more obscure and remote than the more popular parts with the 4000 Footers and Huts. Thanks for sharing your experiences!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13645865490952231444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2194161742476128031.post-51021551390966128332011-10-26T05:33:50.730-04:002011-10-26T05:33:50.730-04:00Hi John - I did enjoy the hike to West Royce. A blue sky would have been nice, but gray skies offered a different, mysterious feel.Ellen Snyderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09158932570826154360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2194161742476128031.post-81245177826648876032011-10-25T20:56:07.660-04:002011-10-25T20:56:07.660-04:00Judging from your photos and narrative, I'd sa...Judging from your photos and narrative, I'd say that you still managed to have an enjoyable hike to West Royce, even if the weather conditions were subpar. And after all, it is a rare event indeed to have a truly bad hike! :-)

John1HappyHikerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02242409292439585691noreply@blogger.com
